The results are in – Der Gold Cup 2026 ist entschieden!

3-Winner

The Gold Cup 2026 has come to an end, and the Bay of Lübeck made sure nobody got an easy ride this year. Shifting winds, unpredictable gusts and anything but steady conditions turned every race into a small test of character — exactly the kind of challenge Folkboats are built for.

Under the given circumstances on the Lübeck Bay, the crew of Ylva (F‑GER 739) from the Kieler Yacht Club emerged victorious: Ulf Kipcke, Kathrin Martens and Gero Martens claimed the Gold Cup 2026, earning their win with skill, determination and true Folkboat spirit.

Second place went to Per Buch on Geppeline (F‑DEN 926) from Kerteminde Sejlklub, together with Hans Schultz and Per Puck. The Danish crew showed excellent feel for the tricky conditions throughout the event.

In third place, Per Hovmark on Cancan (F‑DEN 741) from Thisted, supported by Søren Bredal and Lars Tjørnvig, secured a well‑deserved podium finish with smart tactics and steady teamwork.

GoldCup-Bathing

And as tradition demands, the winning crew did not escape the customary victory swim. A moment that once again highlights what makes the Folkboat class so special: camaraderie, humor, and the joy of celebrating achievements together.

Congratulations to all crews, and a heartfelt thank‑you to the organizers, volunteers and the entire Folkboat family. A Gold Cup to remember — lively, challenging, and full of stories that will be told for years to come.
